Terrorism threats a key concern for Singapore and the region

As terrorism remains a main concern around the world, constant vigilance of homeland defence and security, despite the economic downturn, is imperative. In recognition, Singapore will be hosting and bringing together international ministerial and governmental delegations, including experts, academia, researchers from over 20 countries to its shores in March at the Global Security Asia (GSA) 2009 conference. They will address evolving issues and concerns of Homeland Security and share the latest counter-terrorism expertise and technologies during GSA 2009, an event hosted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Singapore.
Global Security Asia (GSA) 2009 is Asia-Pacific’s largest and most comprehensive homeland security and counter terrorism Conference and Exhibition, which will be held from the 17th to 19th of March. The event will showcase the latest thinking and state-of-the-art technologies that are being developed to counter the sophistication of the ever increasing number of threats around the world.
“The global terrorist threat not only remains clear and present, but continues to evolve and in some aspects, become increasingly sophisticated. Global Security Asia 2009, the third since its inception in 2005, is a valuable opportunity for such collaboration, sharing and exchange among government leaders and officials, technologists and security practitioners and private sector experts,” said DPM Wong Kan Seng
GSA 2009 boasts an extensive list of prestigious of exhibitors including EADS, Motorola, Thales, Certis Cisco, Raytheon, Sheares and many others from the USA, the UK, France, Korea, Australia and Israel. These industry leaders will showcase the latest technological solutions in all areas of homeland security, including Security Screening, Biometrics, Land, Air and Sea Security, Internet and Computer Security, Intelligence and Training Methods, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Threats, Surveillance and Security Risk Management.
