A fresh Request For Proposal (RFP) is to be issued for procurement of deep-submergence rescue vessels for Indian Navy.
The Indian Navy operates Indian Naval Ship (INS) Nireekshak (Diving Support Vessel) which uses a rescue bell to rescue personnel within its designed parameters from a submarine in distress. The option for a global partnership for such rescue is also available. The present status of the procurement process is under formulation.
