Aizawl to get Artificial Turf Football ground

Govt of Mizoram has awarded a contract for world-class FieldTurf football surface in Aizawl. FieldTurf Tarkett India has won the contract for the Aizawl field, that spans an area of 80,000 square feet. FieldTurf Tarkett India has already constructed Chowgule College football ground, Goa in 2005, the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata in 2009 and many other pitches in India.

The FieldTurf artificial turf system has become synonymous with elite level football performance across the globe.

Better ball performance, shock absorption and player safety are three key soccer-related elements that have made FieldTurf the #1 choice at all levels of football. Over 75% of all teams in the English Premier League, Spain’s ‘La Liga’, and France’s ‘Ligue de Football Professionnel’, train on FieldTurf and synthetic turf systems from the world leader in artificial turf.

The Mizoram project is scheduled to commence shortly and is expected to be completed in 3 months.

  1. Due to lack of transportation and a rainy season compels, that the work is still going on, and mostly completed. Football lovers of Mizoram are eagerly waiting for it. It probably will be completed by the end of February 2011.
Thanks to the Government of Mizoram and the concern Minister ( Sports & Youth services Department) at most. The Indian football, perhaps will have a chance to spot an extra ordinary talent from Mizoram here after.
